Letter from the Editor
It is a privilege to be the editor-in-chief for The Journal of Rheumatology. Following in the footsteps of esteemed colleagues Metro A. Ogryzlo, who founded The Journal in 1974, and Duncan A. Gordon, who was the editor for 35 years.
As one of the first journals dedicated to rheumatology, based in Toronto, Canada, The Journal has always been a leader in clinical research related to all aspects of rheumatology, as well as a supporter of pediatric rheumatology research. Since 2012, The Journal of Rheumatology has been a part of the Canadian Rheumatology Association, extending our influence and reach to all its members.
The Journal of Rheumatology continues to grow every year. Our Editorial Committee now consists of prominent international members throughout North America in the field of rheumatology. This has allowed us to acquire more diverse opinions and broaden our mandate, such as building on our biostatistical expertise.
Because of my background in clinical and laboratory research, I value the importance of clinical and translational research, which is where I see the direction of research going today and in the future. My aim for The Journal of Rheumatology is to be the leading and most widely read journal regarding all clinical and translational aspects of rheumatology.
