Seven years earlier, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) was diagnosed in the setting of fatigue, malar rash, polyarthritis, and photosensitivity, with antinuclear antibody, ds-DNA, Smith, ribonucleoprotein, Ro, and La seropositivity. Subsequent manifestations included aseptic meningitis, cutaneous vasculitis, and diffuse proliferative glomerulonephritis.
