The recent outbreak of parvovirus B19 (B19V) infection in Europe has posed numerous challenges for rheumatologists.1 Adult patients with an acute infection experience a wide range of rheumatological symptoms and, among these, inflammatory arthralgia and arthritis are most frequently observed.2
