Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease associated with premature mortality and multimorbidity.1,2 It predominately affects young adult females and disproportionately affects racial/ethnic minority groups and individuals with lower socioeconomic status.3,4
