Controversies around the physician global assessment (PGA) were summarized, including discussions of variations and limitations of the static PGA instruments in use. The Psoriasis Outcome Measures project was introduced, with a goal of developing measures for use in clinical trials and practice. This project will follow the Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) process and may become a model for outcome measures of other dermatologic diseases.
