AB Macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) is a major cause of death in patients with systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). We describe 4 patients who developed MAS during or after vancomycin treatment. Vancomycin should be used with great care in patients with systemic JIA.
